is similar too Dungeon Meshi. Heavens Design Team goes into animal biology (and why certain animals wouldnt work in real life) while Cells at Work is about the human body, specifically the cells and their immune responses, told via anthropomorphized cells. It works out great and I love it, but the series has yet to touch the cultural nerve that it would need to be popular and I don't think it will in the current anime/manga climate. Id recommend and .While I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with any of the anime/manga I mentioned, Dungeon Meshi seems to be somewhere in the middle: It's a little more methodical and world-heavy like the first two, the food and cooking are amazing but doesn't carry much popular appeal, and the fantasy vibe seems more classic D&D than modern escapist fantasy and doesn't contain much fan service. Isekai and Fantasy have been really hot recently, but a lot of the well known ones are very action/comedy oriented and contain a decent amount of fan service (Re:zero, Reincarnated as a Slime, and Shield Hero come to mind). Those who lived past childhood regularly lived beyond 60. The lower average lifespan is because of the high infant and childhood mortality. From Yen Press: When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions and a member. Series that focus on food now seem to have a crowd of their own, but also do not seem to be very popular (Food Wars I think came closest). BTW in Dungeon Meshi, being medieval times, Tallmen dont live that much longer than half-foots just 60 years on an average. The slower pace and focus on the environment remind me a lot of Yuru camp and Girl's Last Tour, neither of which became very popular despite having a decent following. This is all my opinion, so please take it with a grain of salt: I think it is the things that make Dungeon Meshi great that also keep it from being very popular.
